What is the Action Today Dashboard?
The Action Today Dashboard highlights key and actionable information to help you quickly identify and resolve issues.
It provides insights designed to keep your appointment diaries busy, stay on top of practice debts, and monitor daily performance across your practice.
How do I access the Action Today Dashboard?
You can open the dashboard in two ways:
Click the 'Action Today' ⚡️ button in the left-hand navigation menu, or
Select the 1st tile on the MPC landing page.
📝 Please note: If you have access to fewer than 15 practices, the Action Today Dashboard will automatically load as your landing page when you log in.
What does the Action Today Dashboard show?
The dashboard includes nine tiles, each covering a different operational area. Click any tile to drill down into the full detailed report.
Diary Utilisation — A snapshot of today's and the next two working days' diary fill rate, showing booked hours percentage and whitespace hours. Full guide →
Unpaid Invoices — Invoices raised but not fully paid, grouped by last working day, last 7 days, and last 30 days. Full guide →
Failed to Attends (FTAs) — Patients who failed to attend yesterday, plus patients who FTA'd in the last 30 days with no future appointment booked. Full guide →
Cancellations — Cancelled appointments from the last 30 days without a replacement booking, plus unbooked hours due to cancellations today and tomorrow. Full guide →
Open COTs Without Appointment — Private and NHS treatment plans that have been started but have no future appointment booked, helping you track your treatment pipeline. Full guide →
Workflow Compliance Failures — Tracks how effectively your reception checkout workflow is being completed, showing failures from the last working day and last 7 days. (Exact users only.) Full guide →
Recalls Due Without Appointment Booked — Patients due for a dentist or hygienist recall within the next 7 days who have not yet booked an appointment. Full guide →
Lapsed Patients — Patients who lapsed last month, plus those due to lapse in the current and next month. Full guide →
Potential Unblocked Diaries — Open appointment diaries with no appointments scheduled, which can distort key metrics such as diary utilisation and earnings per hour. Full guide →
How do I select practices on the Action Today Dashboard?
The dashboard allows you to choose which practices to include in the data.
Click 'Unselect All'
Select the practice(s) you want to view
Click 'Create Dashboard' to refresh your view
Why is my data out of date?
🚨 Important: If your dashboard data appears outdated, there may be an issue with the data transfer between MPC and your practice management software. Please raise a support ticket via the chat support box and we will investigate and resolve this for you.
