Definitions for Cancelled Hours vary between MPC, Dentally and Exact. Below is a clear explanation of how each system calculates this metric.

🚨 Important to remember: Deleted appointments are not included in cancelled hours reporting across all systems. Deleting appointments is not recommended.

MPC Definition

Cancelled Hours are the total number of hours from cancelled appointments that were not reused for other appointments.

  • These hours appear as whitespace in the appointment diary.

  • Data is taken directly from your practice management software.

    Dentally Definition

    Cancelled Hours are the total number of hours for all cancelled appointments, regardless of whether those hours were later reassigned to other appointments.

Exact Definition

Cancelled Hours are the total hours left vacant by cancelled appointments that were not rebooked. Cancelled appointments that fall within blocked time are not excluded.
