Revenue per Hour Worked Report

This report generates a league table ranking providers and practices by their actual earnings per hour worked. Use it to compare performance across associates, identify high and low earners, and benchmark productivity across your practices.

Navigate to Financial > Revenue Per Hour Worked Report in the left navigation menu to access the report.

The following revenue streams are included in the calculation:

  • Invoices Raised: All fee-per-item charges and any applicable NHS fees.

  • Units of Dental Activity (UDAs): Counted at either the normalised UDA rate or the rate specified in Practice Setup. Please note: patient fees are excluded from this calculation.

  • Capitation Fees:

    • NHS Scotland and Northern Ireland capitation payments

    • Private capitation schemes (e.g., Denplan)

  • Patient & Payor Fees: Applicable to NHS Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Setting the Normalised UDA Rate

To ensure UDA values are calculated consistently across your group, you can set a normalised UDA rate in MPC:

Navigate to: Practice Setup > NHS Normalised UDA Rate Configuration

Enter the desired UDA rate. This will be used as the standard across the practice for internal calculations and league table comparisons.

📝 Please note: The normalised rate allows fair comparison across providers on different contracts. The report also shows Actual Revenue Per Hour calculated using each provider's individual contract UDA rate — both figures appear side by side in the report output.
