The Recall Effectiveness Detail report shows every individual patient recall due within your chosen period, along with headline recall figures, a visual recall flow, and a booked rate per practice or provider. Use it to see which recalls are converting to appointments and which patients still need to be contacted.
Access this report by drilling down from the Recall Effectiveness report, or navigate directly via Report Finder > Performance > Recall Effectiveness Detail in the MPC menu.

Summary Tiles
Four tiles at the top of the report give you a quick overview of the selected period:
Recalls Due: The number of recalls due in the period. Inactive and Do Not Recall patients are excluded.
Recalls Booked: Recalls with a status of Booked or Completed.
Recall Success Rate: The percentage of due recalls that have been booked. If the selected statuses make this calculation meaningless (for example, only Future recalls are shown), the tile displays a dash with the note Not applicable to the selected statuses.
Recalls Overdue: Recalls with a status of Failed – the recall date has passed with no appointment booked.
Figures are counted per recall, not per patient – a patient can have both a dentist and a hygienist recall. The line beneath the tiles summarises how the figures are calculated, how many Inactive/Do Not Recall recalls were excluded, how many recalls are not yet due, and which recall statuses and types are currently shown.
Recall Flow
The Recall Flow chart shows how recalls progress through four stages, from left to right:
Due: All recalls due in the period (excluding Inactive and Do Not Recall).
Contact: How many were Contacted and how many had No Contact.
Booking: How many went on to be Booked or remain Not Booked.
Outcome: How many booked recalls were completed.
Each stage shows a count and a percentage. Contacts are recorded per patient.
Booked Rate by Practice / Provider
This bar chart compares recalls Booked (green) against recalls Due (not booked) (grey) for each practice. Use the Practice / Provider toggle in the top right of the chart to switch between a practice and provider breakdown.
Patient Recall Table
Below the charts is a table listing each patient with a recall in the period.
Table Tools
Search recalls: Search the table for a specific patient.
Filter: Narrow the results by Recall Status (e.g. Booked, Future, Do Not Recall), Recall Type (Dentist or Hygienist), Patient Dentist or Payor Type. The number on the Filter button shows how many filters are active. Active filters appear as tags beneath the toolbar – click the x on a tag to remove it, or Clear all to remove them all.
By Practice / All Records: By Practice groups patients into a separate section per practice, each with its own Recalls Due, Booked and Overdue totals. All Records shows every patient in a single list with a Practice column.
Collapse All / Expand All: Collapse or expand all practice sections at once.
Sort: In By Practice view, order the practice sections by Lowest success rate first, Highest success rate first or Alphabetical (A–Z).
Column Settings: Choose Compact, Normal or Comfortable view, or Reset Column Widths.
Manage Columns: Show or hide columns. The button shows how many columns are currently visible (e.g. 10/26). Use Show All, Hide Optional or Reset to Defaults as needed.
💡 Top tip: Click a column header to sort by that column, or drag a column by its handle to reorder it.
💡 Top tip: Dentally users can click the patient code in blue to open the patient record on Dentally.
