The MPC definition of whitespace is unbooked and available time in the appointment diary and is depicted in red on the Appointment Diary Report and the Whitespace Forward Cover Report
If your whitespace percentage is showing higher than expected it may be that there are diaries open in the background on your PMS (Practice Management Software).
To check your whitespace on MPC:
Performance
Appointment Diary
Click on Practice name to open the individual Provider details
Click on the Provider's bar graph to open the diary details
Whitespace is shown in red
You may see whitespace outside your normal working hours which is not visible on your PMS diary screen.
The image below shows diaries which are open from 0830hrs to 1700hrs but if diaries are opened outside of 'normal' working hours it will show this here.
Check your Providers set up on your PMS to ensure rotas are correctly set.
If your rotas are set correctly but still showing as high whitespace % please check that the break times in your diaries are blocked out correctly. For Dentally users, if you use an appointment to block space within the diary without a patient file attached this will still be classed as whitespace.
If you use the blocking feature on the diaries to block out time this will not be included in the available time for that specific diary.
