How To Use Future Appointment Types Report

What is the Future Appointment Types report?

The Future Appointment Types report supports forward planning by breaking down future appointments by service code over daily, weekly, or monthly periods.

It provides visibility into:

  • The volume of specific procedures booked

  • Demand per practice, provider, or provider role

  • Forecast income streams

  • Stock and resource requirements

This makes the report especially useful for income forecasting and stock control.

How This Report Helps with Forward Planning

Income Forecasting

  • Understand which service codes are booked in advance

  • Identify high-value procedures by time period

  • Forecast expected revenue by practice or provider

    Stock Control

  • Anticipate demand for consumables and materials

  • Reduce over-ordering or stock shortages

  • Align ordering with booked procedures

How to Access the Report

  1. Navigate to the Patient & Clinical module

  2. Open the Future Appointment Types report


  • How to Run the Report

    1. Select Start Date

      • Defines when the reporting period begins

    2. Select End Date

      • Defines when the reporting period ends

      OR

    3. Select Date Range

      • Use a quick selection such as:

        • Last 7 Days

        • Last Month

        • This Month

    4. Select Practice(s)

      • Choose one, multiple, or all practices

    5. Select Provider(s)

      • Filter results by specific providers if required

    6. Select Summary Level
      Choose how the data is grouped:

      • Group

      • Practice

      • Provider

      • Provider Role

    7. Select Provider Type
      Filter providers based on PMS status:

      • All providers (active and inactive)

      • Active providers only

      • Providers marked as “Can’t Charge” in the PMS

      • A combination of the above

    8. Create Report

      • Click Create Report to generate the data

💡 Top Tip:
Next to the Create Report button, you can toggle how results are displayed:

  • Daily

  • Weekly

  • Monthly

Report Columns Explained

  • Practice
    Name of the practice

  • Service Code
    Service items associated with future appointments

  • Data
    The total number of each service item (or grouped service items) planned per day, week, or month

💡 Top tip: Change the Summary Level to Provider to drill down into figures for individual clinicians.


Exporting, Printing & Scheduling

  • Use Export Data to download a CSV copy of the report.

  • Use the Print button if you need a physical copy.

  • Use Schedule Report to automate regular delivery of this report.
