How to use the Invoice & Payment Report in MPC

Guide for understanding and using the MPC Invoice & Payment Report.

What is the Invoice & Payment Report?

Tracks all invoices raised and part payments received within the reporting period. This report is key for ensuring payments are up-to-date, being in control of any unpaid invoices and highlight any issues with payments collected.

How to run the Invoice & Payment Report?

  • Go to Financial on the navigation menu on the left and select Invoice & Payment Report from the dropdown.

  • Work through the filters to ensure you are reporting on the correct parameters.

  • Select the reporting period by choosing your Start Date and End Date from the calendar icon.

  • Select the Practice/Practices.

  • Select the Providers.

  • Choose the Payor Codes.

  • Select the Payment Type.

  • Select the Invoice Category.

  • Click Create Report to run the data.

For each practice, the individual invoice lines with grand totals at the bottom of the report.

🚨 Important to remember: We are including any unallocated payment invoices too. The patient balance will be £0 on your patient management software. We do this to ensure all your payments are allocated as vital for your providers revenue.

What does the reporting parameters mean?

  • Payor Code: Allows you to filter under individual payor codes such as NHS, Private, Plan. The default is 'None specified' which indicates that no filtering on payor codes should be applied.

  • Payment Type:

    • All Invoices: All invoices will be included, regardless of paid (allocated) status.

    • Unpaid Invoices: Only invoices with no payment at all will be included (i.e. no allocations).

    • Paid Invoices: Only fully paid invoices will be included (i.e. fully allocated).

    • Part Paid Invoices: Only invoices with an amount paid value less than the invoice amount will be included (i.e. partially but not fully allocated).

    • Unpaid and Part Paid Invoices: Shows both unpaid and part paid invoices on the one report.

  • Invoice Category:

    • All: No additional filtering - both patient and payor invoices will be included.

    • Patient: Only patient invoices will be included.

    • Payor: Only payor invoices will be included.

  • To download a copy of your report you can use the Export Data button to download a CSV spreadsheet.

  • You can use the Print button in the top right as needed.

  • To set up automation of the report you can use the Schedule Report button.
