The data is grouped into sections, for each selected practice:

  • Provider: the provider who carried out the treatment. The provider who raised the invoice on the patient management system aka the charging provider.

  • Work on <Provider> (<Payor>) patients: All invoices relating to patients associated with a particular provider and invoice payor type are grouped together.
    For example, this subgrouping might be shown under provider J SMITH, as 'work on K JONES (NHS) patients'. This will list all invoices raised in the reporting period that provider J SMITH has carried out for NHS treatment, for patients who are registered with provider K Jones on your patient management software.

What does the reporting parameters mean?

Date range: Defines the reporting period;

  • Practices: allows selection of all or specific practices within the practice group.

  • Dentist: allow selection of all or specific dentists (providers)

  • Payor Breakdown: allows a choice of the level of grouping of invoices - under a given working provider & patient provider combination, invoices of the same group are shown together. The choices are:

    • Category: This is the default - invoice payors are used in broad categories, e.g. NHS or Private;

    • Name: Invoices for specific payors (e.g. DENPLAN) are grouped together, and the payor name is shown;

    • Code: Invoices for specific payors (e.g. DENPLAN) are grouped together, and the payor code is shown;

  • Reporting level: allows a choice of the level of detail shown. The choices are:

    • Invoice total: This is the default - a single line is shown per invoice, which is the invoice total amount together with any adjustments in the period.

    • Invoice lines: With this option, patient invoices are split out to show individual invoice line items, and the total of these line item amounts. Adjustments and payor invoices are shown on a single separate line.

    • Invoice Lines with Adj Lines: This is the same as Invoice lines mode, except that adjustments that are completely offsetting (e.g. resubmissions) are broken down into service codes, instead of a single adjust row. An offsetting adjustment is one whose amount equals the amount of the adjusted invoice, in the reverse direction. Also payor invoices are broken down by service codes instead of a single payor invoice row.
