We've refreshed how MPC looks and how you move around it. The menu is simpler, your dashboards and reports are easier to find, and everything you used before is still here. Nothing has been taken away, it's just easier to get to.
Watch our video here to see what has changed or read below in more detail:
Here's what's changed and where to find things.
A simpler menu
The old left-hand menu grouped everything by module, so reports lived under long lists like Financial, Performance, Patient & Clinical and NHS. Finding a specific report often meant knowing which module it belonged to.
The new menu is shorter and organised around what you're trying to do. The main entries are:
Home, your daily starting point
Appointment Diary, your diary view, now with its own place in the menu
Data Explorer, for building your own analysis
Dashboards, where all your dashboards now live
Report Finder, a single place to browse and search every report
You'll also see the other areas included in your plan, such as Cash Sheets, Dentist Portal and MPC Pay. The menu only shows the areas relevant to your practice, so your list may be shorter or longer than a colleague's at a different site.
Appointment Diary has its own entry
Your Appointment Diary now sits directly in the left-hand menu as its own entry, so you can jump straight to it without going through a report list. Select Appointment Diary from the menu to open your diary view.
All your dashboards in one place
Your dashboards now live together under Dashboards. That includes your Practice Hub dashboards, any custom dashboards your team has built, and MPC Explorer dashboards if Explorer is part of your plan.
You no longer need to remember which section a particular dashboard sat in. Open Dashboards, and they're all there.
đ Please Note: MPC Explorer dashboards appear here only if your practice has Explorer. If you don't have it yet, you won't see them.
Find any report with Report Finder
Report Finder is the new home for reports. Instead of hunting through menus, you get a single catalogue of every report, grouped by category, each with a short description of what it does. Browse by category or search by name, then click to open.
Where a report has a newer version, Report Finder opens that version for you automatically.
đ Please Note: Some reports previously appeared twice, an older version and a newer one. You'll now see the current version only. The report and its data are unchanged, there's just one clear place to open it.
Star your favourites for quick access
You can now star the dashboards and reports you use most. Select the star icon on any dashboard or report, and it's added to a Starred section in the left-hand menu, so your go-to views are always one click away.
Star as many as you like, and remove one at any time by selecting its star again. It's the quickest way to build a menu around the handful of reports and dashboards your team looks at every day.
đĄ Top Tip: Star the reports you open each morning so they sit at the top of your menu, ready the moment you log in.
A cleaner, more consistent look
Alongside the new menu, we've tidied up the look of MPC with a single, consistent colour scheme and a cleaner page background across reports and screens. This is purely visual. Your reports, numbers and settings all work exactly as before.
Nothing has been removed
This release changes how you navigate MPC, not what MPC does. Every report and dashboard you relied on is still available, either from the new menu, from Dashboards, or through Report Finder. If you had access to something before, you still do.
Common questions
I can't find a report I used to use. Where is it?
Open Report Finder and search by the report's name. If a report used to appear in two places, you'll now find a single, current version of it.
Can I pin the reports and dashboards I use most?
Yes. Select the star icon on any report or dashboard and it appears in the Starred section of the left-hand menu for quick access. Select the star again to remove it.
Where have my dashboards gone?
They're all under Dashboards in the menu, including any custom dashboards your team built and your Practice Hub dashboards.
The layout and colours look different. Have I lost any features?
No. The changes are to the menu, the layout and the colour scheme only. All your reports, dashboards and data are unchanged.
Do I need to do anything, or retrain my team?
No action is needed. Everything works the same way once you've opened it. It's worth a quick look at the new menu so you know where Dashboards and Report Finder are.
I can see Data Explorer but I don't think we have it. What is it?
Data Explorer lets you build your own analysis and dashboards from your practice data. If it isn't part of your plan, clicking it shows you what it does and how to add it. Get in touch through the chat if you'd like to know more.
