Why can't I see Cash Sheets?

Learn why you might not be able to see or use Cash Sheets and how an Admin User can set up the correct permissions

Written by Lily Hunt

There are two common reasons a user might not be able to see or use Cash Sheets. Which one applies depends on what you're actually experiencing:

  • The Cash Sheets menu item doesn't appear at all — this usually means the feature hasn't been enabled for your practice

  • Cash Sheets appears in the menu, but you can't add, submit, or view anything — this is almost always a user permissions issue

Cash Sheets isn't enabled for the practice

If you can't see Cash Sheets anywhere in the left-hand menu, the feature may not yet be activated for your practice. Please reach out to support via the chat box and we can confirm and enable this for you.

Accessing Cash Sheets (permissions issue)

If Cash Sheets appears in your menu but you're unable to use it, this is usually because the correct role hasn't been assigned to your login.

Before anyone can use Cash Sheets, an Admin User needs to set up permissions:

  1. Navigate to Cash Sheets from the left-hand menu

  2. Click Configuration at the top of the screen

  3. Click the green button in the top-right corner to manage User Permissions

  4. Assign the appropriate role to each user:

    • Practice User — adds daily takings, enters explanations for discrepancies, submits Cash Sheets

    • Finance User — reviews reconciled Cash Sheets, archives correct sheets, sends sheets back for correction

    • Admin User — manages configuration, discrepancy categories, and closure/petty cash reasons

If you're a reception or practice team member trying to submit a Cash Sheet, you'll most likely need the Practice User role. If you still can't access Cash Sheets after this has been assigned, please reach out to support via the chat box.
