📝 Please note: This report is coming soon for Dentally users.

This report is specific to the UK NHS and summarises data from NHS Courses of Treatment (COTs) for selected practices and a defined date range.

It is mainly used as a drilldown from the main NHS Dental Assurance Framework (DAF) report, to show the detailed breakdown behind the 'Claims with Item' and 'All Claims' values for a selected Quality Indicator. However, it can also be run directly from the MPC Clinical menu.

When run, the report displays a separate section for each selected practice. The table includes the following COT detail fields:

  • Patient Code: Identifier for the patient linked to the COT.

  • COT No: Unique number for the Course of Treatment.

  • COT Band: Treatment band category (e.g. Band 1, Band 2).

  • Claim Provider: Provider code from the FP17 form, representing the dentist responsible for the claim.

  • Date Trt Accepted: Date the treatment was accepted (usually the planned start date).

  • Date Trt Completed: Date the treatment was completed.

  • Date Trt Completed/Accepted: Shows the completion date if available; otherwise, the acceptance date.

  • Pt Age At Accept Date: Patient’s age (to decimal precision) at the time treatment was accepted.

  • Quality Indicator section: the following columns are shown for each selected Quality Indicator:

    • Claims with item: 1 will be shown here if the COT has the characteristic for this particular Quality Indicator. E.g. for Radiographs Rate, 1 will be shown if the COT FP17 form indicates that radiographs were included;

    • All Claims: 1 will be shown here if the COT meets the 'Applies To' criteria for the Quality Indicator. If the Applies To is 'All', then all COTs should show a 1 in this column. For other indicators, e.g. if Applies To is Children 3-16, a 1 is only shown if the COT is relevant for that Applies To criteria

  • Supporting Detail columns: If certain Quality Indicators are chosen, then additional supporting columns are shown on the right-hand side. E.g. 'Re-attending within 3 months' will show certain columns. These can include:

    • Has Prev Trt Same Contract: YES if there is previous treatment for this patient within the same NHS Contract, NO otherwise;

    • Days Since Prev Trt Same Contract: the days from completion date of the previous treatment to the acceptance date of the current treatment.

    • Months Since Prev Trt Same Contract: the months from completion date of the previous treatment to the acceptance date of the current treatment.

    • COT No Prev Trt Same Contract: the unique COT identifier of the previous treatment;

    • COT Band Prev Trt Same Contract: the banding of the previous treatment;
