This tile complements the Practice Hours Utilisation Analysis tile. It evaluates the difference between:
Practice opening hours
Appointment diary hours
Actual hours worked
It then applies these differences to estimate revenue opportunity by multiplying the hours with the average revenue per hour worked for the practice or group.
Average Revenue per Hour Worked
This figure is calculated monthly using:
UDA rate from the Contract page in the Practice Setup dashboard (defaults to £25 per UDA if no actual rate is entered)
Private revenue from the Income Report
Private Capitation and, if applicable, Public Health Capitation
All revenue components are divided by the total hours worked in the month.
Practice Potential Revenue
This represents the maximum possible revenue, assuming full utilisation of available capacity, and is calculated as:
(Average Revenue per Hour Worked) × (Practice Opening Hours) × (Number of Chairs)
Data Sources & Assumptions
Opening hours and chair counts are sourced from the Practice Detail table
Appointment diary hours and actual hours worked come from the Patient Management Software (PMS) and are assumed to be accurate
⚠️ Incorrect blocking within the PMS appointment diary may lead to inaccurate revenue opportunity analysis.
